Jessica Kinard, PhD, at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities at UNC Chapel Hill, is conducting a research study about Hispanic infants at high likelihood for autism. The purpose of this study is to translate a remote developmental assessment into Spanish and then pilot the Spanish version of the assessment with infants who are either showing possible signs of autism or who have an older sibling diagnosed with autism. After the assessment, families are interviewed about their experiences, perspectives, and suggestions for improving the assessment for Spanish-speaking families.
